Injections and Fillers

One of the most popular forms of treatment for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and create smoother, younger skin is injections. In an office-based procedure, the physician uses fine needles to insert a filler into the skin to add volume, replace collagen and/or stimulate natural collagen and new skin cell growth.
botoxBotox® is the brand name for botulinum toxin type A, nature’s potent blocker of nerve impulses that relaxes muscles. It has been used safely and effectively for over ten years to treat eye and neurological disorders. Lines and wrinkles are caused by the pull of underlying muscles each time you smile, laugh or frown. Botox® can beautifully and effectively soften frown lines, forehead furrows, and crow’s feet. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth while untreated facial muscles function normally and facial expression is unaffected. Botox cannot improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin (skin color and texture) or skin sagging. The effects of Botox last from three to six months and re-treatment is necessary.

Recently, newer products have become available such as Dysport and Xeomin. Dr. Ng constantly does further research and training to help patients decide which product, or combination of products, is most suited to them.

restyRestylane® is an FDA approved, long-lasting clear gel of hyaluronic acid that is naturally integrated into the tissue to fill out facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane® is not extracted from animals and since there is almost no risk of an allergic reaction it may be used without pre-testing with immediate results. Restylane® is injected to provide volume where your own hyaluronic acid has decreased for the treatment of wrinkles or folds and to create a more pronounced mouth and fuller lips. This added volume could make an enormous difference in your appearance and make you look several years younger. This effect usually remains for more than 6 months and patients often return for another Restylane® injection within a year of the original treatment.
Recently, newer products have become available, such as Restylane Silk, and Restylane Lyft. Dr. Ng is an expert in using these injectables and advising patients of which product, or combination of products, is right for them.
